16-year-old gunned down in doorway of his home
I think this is horrifying news to everyone that lives in Toronto, even in Ontario. This scary incident tells us the dangerous society that we live in. A young 16-year-old boy was shot while walking out of the door; this scars me because now, every time I open my door, I am thinking, it could be my last. We’ve got to understand that this incident happened in Toronto, one of the wealthiest and safest cities in the world, and 80 homicide had happened in this year. This is a very important issue, young, innocent kids who has a bright future are being killed. Local police must pay more attention about what goes on in the streets; cop cars should roam around neighborhoods frequently to try to reduce the number of homicides that happen each year. If the other 79 homicides didn’t bring attention to the local governments, then I hope this is a wake up call to local governments that they must change the rules and pay more attention to neighborhoods.
Kids' Christmas party funds stolen
I think this thieve is very inconsiderate and selfish. Stealing money which had been donated to innocent kids for Christmas is just gutless. This news just tells us about the world we live in, we live in a very nasty, selfish and greedy world, where no-one pays attention to anything that is happening around them. I hope the police will do everything in their power to catch this thieve and return the donated money to Picco for him to throw the kids a Christmas party and give out presents. This issue warns us that we must start to care about everything around us, we must not just let things slip by us and not do anything about it.

Boys, 8 and 9, charged with rape
I tink this is a very serious issue that should be brought to our attention. I feel that the parents aren't careful enough with watching over thier child, allowing them to experience with the world when they don't even the the sense to understand what is right and what is wrong. When kids are exposed to the media such as music videos and violent movies, they develope a mind of violence, and they begin to think it is right to hurt others. This leads to rape, murder and violence within the young community. I think this inncident should really be a wake up for all the parents out there, to be responsible for their child, and if they see the child walking on the wrong track, they should do everything in their power to bring them back on to the right track. I think this will be able to control the amount of criminal offences that occured in young people and this will also bring safety to others around the child

Police kill unarmed man who was holding hairbrush
I think this is a very serious issue, police are shooting citizens who aren’t harmful. I don’t think police had any right to open fire at this young man, he was carrying a hairbrush, that doesn’t even come close to be seen as a “dangerous” weapon. I personally think that police are just using this as an excuse for the shooting. If our justice system and people that uphold our justice system are liars and dangerous people themesevlesm, then we are facing a very serious problem. Police must be 100% sure that the man was carrying a weapon before open firing because it’s just unfair to the young man, the police basically committed mudering because they had killed a innocent citizen.

Charities organization needs a new image
Pakistan turmoil may raise risks of Canada's Afghan mission: MacKay
I think the President Musharraf’s decision on a state of emergency rule and the suspoension of the country’s constitution is a amature decision which has not been carefully thought about. Placing this rule will ultimatley anger Pakistan citizens who are living in refugee camps just inside the border of Pakistan and these citizens can become easy targets for Tabliban to recruit. This causes problems and brings danger to Canadian soldiers who are patrolling the neighbouring country, Afghnastan. Also, as the world is advancing and changing their government into a democratic government, and the suspend from constitution will be a upset to the economy of the country, as well as to the people of Pakistan. As stats shows, over the period of 3 days, more than 1500 people has retaliated against this rediculious rule, and I hope President Musharraf come to his senses before his government gets over thrown.

Daughters Call 911 On Speeding Dad
I think the daughter had done the right thing, though many other children wouldn't or can't do the same to their dad. I hope this action taken by the girl will be drilled into Montoya's head and make him realize what's important. It's very dangerous to get behind the wheels drunk, it puts other drivers in danger, let alone his children. Though some parents might seem old, but they're still not mature enough to handle the responsibilities of being a parent and knowing what's important. I hope this will be a wake up call for Montoya and for all the other parents in the world who still don't know their priorities.

China's Communist party unveils new team
I am shocked by the outcome of the election, yet happy of the result. Hu Jintao has been a great chief of China, and has led China to the glory road, from my own opinion. China is developing and spending quickly and with the same leader in office helps because there won’t be much changes made and growth of China can progress at the same speed. I support Hu’s policy towards helping the poor and decrease the gap between the rich and the poor because it can really affect China’s economy in the future. If Hu can manage this big tension, he will be favored by the majority of the people of China and he will have more time on his hands to imporve health care and education in China which are also crucial for the growth of China. I believe Hu Jintao and his new team will continue to lead China into prosperity and wealth!

Children find body of a child in a suitcase in a park in Australia
On Wednesday, a report came in from
After reading this article, the first question that come to my mind is “how could anyone be sick enough to do this?”. I think this is a sad, scary and serious issue happening in our world. Upon finding the youngster, no one was even able to identify him, and everyone in the world is saying how we need to protect the young and old but it’s all talk, and talk is weak. A child who possibly didn’t even live to the age of 10 was killed in a briefcase, does he deserve it? NO! He has just as much right to live as anybody else in the world, and this tells me how much the world really cares about others. I think us, humans, must wake up and noticed the real danger instead of fighting some dumb war in

Hitler's globe going up for auction
This article about auctioning Hitler’s valuable objects such as his globe came in this morning. When Hitler died in World War II, soldiers who survived the war had looted his private residence, even stripping the leather from Hitler’s furniture. Nearly everything of value was taken by soldiers, except for the fuehrer's globe! John Barsamian, now 91 is the owner/holder of this precious item. When he found this precious item he was a 28 year old chief warrant and he had kept it for more than 60 years since the war in his home in
I think this is very cool to know that someone still has valuable items from the war, especially if it belongs to Hitler. Being able to possess an item for such a long time is quite impressive, considering it’s from the war time. I think we are quite fortunate to know that people like John is willing to share precious items such as this globe to the world instead of keeping it a secret and end up losing a important piece of historical item forever. This is a very important piece of historical item and people can learn a lot from this globe. Though I have never seen this globe, so I wouldn’t know the condition of the globe, but, I still think that this globe should be worth more for the amount of historical information that this globe contains; we never know, but this globe may allow us to learn more about Hitler, and his tactics used during the war. Anyhow, I think who ever buys this globe during the auction should feel honoured and proud and should try his best to keep the globe in the best condition possible.

More lead found in Chinese-made toys
Today afternoon, a report came in from the associated press, recalling that more than half-million Chinese-made products have more than the stated amount of led in them, including "Pirates of the Caribbean" and Baby Einstein toys, because they contain dangerous levels of lead. These are just a few toys among the 555,200 products recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday afternoon. Toys and products that contain large amount of led are imported and sold by Toys “R” Us Inc. and also, variety of wooden toys and products sold by KB toys Inc. Even aluminums water bottles, imported and sold by the sports authority Inc. Energizer Canada Inc. told reporters that the leather strap attached to the medallion squeeze light contained paint with lead levels exceeding the amount prescribed by Canadian regulations. Energizer Canada Inc. said that about 10,500 lights were distributed in Canada. These products were assembled in China between July 2006 and May 2007 and were sold at retail stores at the beginning of September. Under current U.S. regulations, children's products found to have more than 0.06 per cent lead accessible to users are subject to a recall. The recall also included cups shaped like Frankenstein's head with high levels of lead in their surface paint which can be dangerous when a person drinks out of the cup. Even products that aren’t for kids contain high level of lead in them, including bookmarks, and journals with lead-tainted surface point. The number of highly toxic lead products included in the recall is shocking: About 79,000 "Pirates of the Caribbean" medallion squeeze lights, imported by the Eveready Battery Co; About 15,000 Totally Me! Funky Room Decor Sets, manufactured by Hong Kong-based CKI Toys and imported by Toys "R" Us Inc; About 10,000 wooden Pull-Along Alphabet & Math Blocks wagons, Pull-Along Learning Blocks wagons imported by KB toys Inc; About 63,000 green, plastic cups shaped like Frankenstein's head, imported by Dollar General Merchandising Inc; About 192,000 key chains imported by Dollar General Merchandising Inc; About 150,000 bookmarks and journals, imported by Antioch Publishing; About 11,200 Alpine Design aluminium water bottles imported by The Sports Authority Inc.
I personally think this is a very big problem for Canada. With products that contain high levels of lead in them can harm not only children, but even adults with health problems. Young child are very weak inside and has no defence with germs and toxic materials, especially when young infants like to suck, or bite on lego blocks, or toys. Consuming large amount of lead can endanger kids, causing problems to the kid, internally. With Canada being one of the best countries to live in, I think it’s about time that Canada bring up their standards for security with the products being imported into the country. We all know that most of our products, rather it’s toys, cups, or bags, mostly are imported from China, and if China is doing a bad job making products, then it becomes a huge problem for Canada and will have a negative impact in the market for Canada. The foreign trade association of Canada should also warned their world trading partners, especially China to make healthy, non-toxic products.

Troops kill Afghan civilian
Danger and fear is common in anyone, including citizens, even a soldier when entering a foreign country, let alone to patrol the city streets. Though the shot that was "accidentally" fired yesterday, it still caused a great amount of conflict between the military and the citizens of Afghan. I think this accident should've never happened because no matter what the military says, it's still their responsibilities to keep their weapons under good condition and should know everything about their weapon. Reports say that it was because of weapon malfunction; well, if the soldier had check the weapon before-hand, no citizen of Afghan would be killed or injured. The more "accident" shots that come out of a soldiers gun, the more tension it will create between foreign military and the citizens of Afghan, and sooner or later, there will be rebellion from the citizens. Watching out for suicide bombers can be supported, but rounds being fired through weapon malfunctioning is not an excuse and I think it is not fair to the citizens of Afghan to walk or drive on the streets with fear and danger always at the back of their mind.

Town torn over 'confession' by accused killer arsonist, 10
I think this is a horrible thing to happen to any family, because it's devestating, espicially to the Winans family. It's a horrific thing to lose all three of your children, espicially when it was a 10-year-old boy who set the fire. She can't possibly do anything more to the boy than what it has already been done. On top of this, having three dozen of people waiting outside the court, showing support to the boy, I can understand the frusteration that is going on within the Winanas family. Sepetmber 16th was a horrible day for the small town of Ohio, with all excuses set aside, 4 innicent people were killed, and three of them being small children who hasn't even reach the age of 10 yet. Issues like this should never happen, even though the boy is only 10, he is still old enough to understand, and even he doesn't, his family should guide him and prevent events like this from happening. This issue tells that world that no matter where we come from or what we are doing, we should be looking out for each other, guiding one another from walking off to different tracks, this can bring danger into our society and community!

Second stabbing near school
From my personal opinion, I think that our world is turning into a scary one, kids have been manipulated by the media and the public. Before, kids were never thought to be a threat to anyone or anything, but now, teens like us are threatenting others and stabbing others because of someone snitched on a teacher or police. We've also got to keep in mind that we are talking about Canada, a free and safe country, haven from danger, and yet, we still have kids in Toronto our age, stabbing even shooting at others. We must wake up and get out of comfortable life and start changing the world, starting from small things such as schools such as Mother Teresa, because if we don't take action, our comfortable life will soon become a nightmare!

Tens of thousands march through Yangon
Though I don't think protesting would have a good reflection on the country; however, I totally support the protest of the monks agains the government. The government are inconsiderate, inresponsible and unreasonable for rasing the fuel price. This puts more pressure on the citizens in order to afford a car and pay the fuel price. The purpose of rasing the gas price was to make more money for the government and I think that is really wrong, espicially when controlling a country. If I was a citizen of Mynamer, I would join personally join the protest against the government without a doubt. With presure from China to avoid crack down, I think this protest will work and convince the government to lower the gas price, if not, the protest should continue to go on until the government is willing to stop being greedy and work towards benefits for the people and citizens of Mynamer.

Tricks to help you eat healthfully on the road
I think that this is a great suggestion and tips to give to business travelers. Because these business man are so into making money, they look at their body as a second priority, which is wrong. I know because my father is also a business man and he is always gone early in the morning and return late at night, though he is eating good meals outside, he still isn't aware of the amount of fat and sugar he is consuming. A long-term cycle like this can bring the bodies energy level down, also, increasing weight on the body. The increase in the amount of sugar and fat consumed, can lead to the disease diabetes. Though, more and more people are paying attention to this issue, there are still many out there who aren’t receiving the message. My suggestion for travelers is to really take care of themselves and watch out for the junk food and try to avoid eating it if you can!

Oldest man, 112, wants to live forever
From my personal opinion, I think this that Japan is becoming a very strong country, rapidly. As the world progresses every day, so is Japan individually. As you can see from statistics, Japan’s health rate has goon up by a lot over the past 10 years. This is telling us that Japan is becoming a dominant country in the world. Having the world’s oldest person living in Japan promotes a great deal of living condition in Japan and this could be a pull factor as for immigration and have more skilled workers to come into Japan. Japan was always a strong country with good living conditions, but with world’s oldest living in Japan, provides a bonus for promoting the country as a whole and Japan is not far from being a dominant country in the future.

China to cut back on executions
Upon reading this issue, I think China should stick with the old law for capital punishment because there’s too much crime going on in China, and having mercy upon serious criminals can lead to prison break, or the criminals can influence other criminals who aren’t as bad while in jail. I understand that there might be mistakes from capital punishment, like having the wrong prove for the criminal but if it’s the only way to run the country in a orderly fashion, then it must be done. If China follows the new law for capital punishment, it will take a very long time for each criminal to be convicted. Because China is a very populated place, the government cannot be democratic or even come close to democratic because this will slow down the process of passing on laws or punishments. I was born in China, and I have seen the number of crimes committed and it’s quite scary to see people being robbed, killed, or raped. So I think in order to keep the Chinese citizen under control and have the country run smoothly, China must switch back to the old law regarding capital punishment to control the amount of crimes that goes on in China!

Police officer killed, 3 others wounded
I think this is a tragedy and a very sad day to the United States, and espically to the officer's family. This officer was a brave man indeed. It takes a lot of courage for a man to stop a man who is dangerous and armed and I think the officer has done his job to the fullest. We must pay respect and attention to this officer who gave up his life in order to save the city. We must learn from public heros like this police officer. Most of the people in the world don't pay much attention to police officers because they don't think they are as important, but really, they are the heros of our community and they are the ones giving up their lifes to save others. This suspect must be stopped and caught, so the law enforcement agencies must use every option they have to catch this guy, or else, this officer would've given his life up for nothing because this suspect is still out there robbing and harming innocent citizens. This day has brought dome upon the family of this past-away officer, but let his bravery and courage always be remeber. I believe if everyone in the world had the bravery and the courage of this officer, the world would be a better place!

Group: We fired Israel rocket
I personally think that this is an important issuse to the world and also between the two countries that are in conflict. This shows the world that everyone lives in a dangerous world, though everyone thinks that they are safe, because they have a millitary protecting them which is not true just like this issue about Isreal. This issue is informing the world that as a citizen of our own country and a citizen to the world, we must come together and act up on the dangerous battles that is going on today, in our world. Issues like this cannot happen in the future, because inicent people are getting injured and hurt for something that they aren't accountable for. Many countries are always think of peace as a symbol for the world, but little battles like these that happen every day are causing many casualties in the world. We always say to learn from the past, but sometimes, we should learn from the present too. I think that Jihad should be severly punished for the attack on the isreali army, so the next time he puts a army in japordy, he will think twice before he act.
